M.A.I. Murray will be present at your selected venue to present a talk on a topic of your choice. Current topic options include: - Fiction writing: Getting started and getting past the writer's block - The Incorporation of mythology and folklore in modern fantasy - World building: How to make your unbelievable realm, believable - The many different techniques of character development If you have a different topic you would like the author to speak on in place of one the currently available options, at least four weeks advance notice is required. The prepared talk will last between 20-30 minutes with time allocated afterward to answer questions and sign books. Free for locations within an hour of Rocky Mount, Virginia. For locations further away, advance payment is required to cover travel and overnight lodging costs as needed, depending on the distance. Within three hours driving time of Rocky Mount, no lodging cost is required, only a fee to cover gas prices. An invoice will be sent to you after those costs are determined. Upon receipt of payment, the booking will be added to the calendar. To schedule an author talk, use the contact form to request your desired time slot along with two additional back up times that will work for your venue. Three weeks advance notice is preferred, but the author is flexible and will attempt to accommodate your schedule. Weekends are also preferred, but weekdays (evenings only) can be booked for locations within Charlottesville city limits. This booking is for a one-time event. If you would like to schedule additional author talks, chapter readings, or book signings at your venue, please note that in your initial booking request, and we will accommodate your request to the best of our ability.
